The Devonport practice is situated in 81A Gunn Street in Devonport. This location is very close to the Kmart and Coles and parking is not a problem here. The rooms have been freshly decorated to create a warm and inviting space. We currently have two clinicians operating from this building with space for expansion for more clinicians. Our other locations are in Launceston on 54 Canning Street and 166 St John’s Street.

Emma Brown
Emma is a registered Psychologist who enjoys working with adults, young people, and families to improve mental health. Emma takes a flexible and client-centred approach and has an interest in working with anxiety and trauma related difficulties. Emma uses an integrative therapeutic approach and has experience with evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, and EMDR. Emma enjoys singing and bush walking. Emma is based in our office located in Devonport.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr Sue Crebbin
Sue is a Clinical Psychologist working with young people and adults presenting with anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma-related conditions; a particular interest is health psychology. She has worked in a variety of settings as a psychologist and continues to lecture and supervise student research projects. Sue uses a collaborative approach to identify strategies and practical changes that will meet the individual needs of the client; she considers psycho-education, to increase knowledge, understanding and insight into the associations between thoughts, behaviours, emotions and physiological responses, as a starting point for change. Sue draws on several evidence-based therapeutic interventions in treatment – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and commitment Therapy, Schema-focused Therapy, Polyvagal based exercises, and Mindfulness – to enhance mental and emotional wellness and facilitate optimal functioning. When not working, she enjoys a bush walk, a dog walk, a paddle in a kayak, music events and reading. Sue works at Synapse Devonport on Mondays and Thursdays.

Susan Wills
Susan is a registered Psychologist who enjoys working with adults, young people, and families, always with a passion for helping them thrive. Susan’s teaching background spans from working in London to remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. Susan takes a flexible and client-centred approach to support people with depression, anxiety, adjustment, relational, and trauma related difficulties, as well as those experiencing grief and loss. Susan has experience with and integrates evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema-focused Therapy, Somatic-focused therapy, and EMDR. In her spare time, Susan enjoys caring for the animals on her farm, cold water swimming, and community events. Susan is based in our office located in Devonport

Cathryn Worthington
Cathryn is a registered psychologist who has worked extensively with children and adolescents as a teacher in primary education settings and as a psychologist in various education settings ranging from 4-18 years. She has a strong background in working with children with learning needs, helping to develop strategies and goals. Cathryn has considerable experience in cognitive, learning, behavioural and developmental assessments of children and adolescents. She enjoys working in collaboration with families, schools and allied-health professionals to improve children’s learning and emotional wellbeing through a strengths based approach. Cathryn draws on evidence based therapeutic interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused therapeutic interventions to provide support for children and adolescents. Cathryn has a particular interest in supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as anxiety-related issues such as school refusal. She uses a neurodiverse affirming approach to navigate transitions, understanding emotions and social relationships.

Emma R is one of two Emma’s we have in our Devonport office. Emma R is the face you will see in reception when you visit or call our Devonport office. Emma has had many years’ experience in Business Administration and over 12 years’ experience in her previous roles in community based mental health settings. When not at work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends, dragon boat paddling, bike riding, kayaking, enjoying the outdoors and chasing waterfalls.

Sel Cooper
Sel (they/them) grew up on Palawa Country (Tasmania) and has ancestral ties to the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation (Victoria). Sel is a qualified Social Worker of many years and also has a Master’s in Clinical Family Therapy. Sel is currently working as a Lecturer in Counselling on Ngunnawal /Ngambri Country (ACT) and is available to see clients online as well as offer availability after hours. As a highly dedicated therapist with two decades of experience, Sel offers counselling to individuals, couples and families. Sel employs an eclectic humanistic approach with a therapeutic framework grounded in narrative and relational techniques. Sel draws from various therapeutic modalities to create tailored support for each client. In addition to integrating evidence-based practices such as acceptance and mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and strength-based methods, Sel also prioritises cultural sensitivity. Sel is passionate about creating a caring, holistic and personalised healing journey that supports people on their path of healing and enhances their social and emotional wellness.
Sel’s professional journey is extensive and includes working across govt and NGOs and they have held many senior leadership positions. They have worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, trans, gender diverse and intersex folk, people affected by family and domestic violence and those caught up in child protection and the criminal justice system. Sel is available to provide cultural and clinical supervision to individuals and groups.

Georgia Burke
Georgia is a Psychologist with experience in providing therapy to people across the lifespan. She has an interest in working with trauma related difficulties, anxiety and mood disorders, gender related issues, and various life stressors. Georgia tailors her therapeutic approach to the individual, to focus on meeting the person’s need in session. She adopts therapeutic modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and EMDR. Georgia believes it is important to create an environment of trust, genuineness, and non-judgment. In her spare time, Georgia loves time by the beach, reading, and enjoying good food. Georgia's services will be available through Telehealth only (video or phone sessions) until further notice. Georgia or our admin team will endeavour to help with any telehealth-related enquires or issues, ensuring that a session can run smoothly via this platform.

Kathryn Mullen
Kathryn is a warm, compassionate, and experienced Psychologist who values her role in improving the mental wellbeing of clients. She has worked as a psychologist for 13 years and is passionate about creating a warm and safe environment in which to understand her clients, their goals and collaborate with them in achieving meaningful change. Kathryn works with individuals who are 16 years and over and is committed to the well-being of all her clients and helping them to flourish, grow and heal. Kathryn has had extensive experience working in the areas of anxiety, stress, depression and eating disorders, including inpatient, intensive outpatient, community and private practice settings. She uses an integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Kathryn loves to spend her weekends with family and friends, camping, bushwalking, exploring garage sales and being creative.
